Personal HQ Counselling Service

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or simply carrying too much on your own, you don’t have to keep pushing through it. I’m Tony, a qualified counsellor & hypnotherapist. I offer private counselling sessions in Wethersfield, near Braintree in Essex, or online if you'd prefer - in this supportive space, you can slow things down, feel heard, and start making sense of your thoughts, fears and anxieties without judgement.

Counselling helps you to face lifes challenges

Anxiety & overwhelm

When anxiety is running the show, even small things can feel too much - your mind races, your body stays on alert, and it’s hard to switch off.

Counselling gives you a steady, calming space to slow everything down, understand what’s driving the anxiety, and gently build understanding so you can feel safer and more in control.

Relationship challenges

When relationships feel tense, confusing, or painful, it can be hard to know what’s yours to hold and what needs to change.

Counselling gives you space to explore patterns, boundaries, communication, and attachment - so you can make clearer choices and build healthier, more secure connections.

Trauma & healing

Trauma can leave you feeling stuck in the past, on edge in the present, or disconnected from yourself and others.

Counselling offers a safe, paced relationship where you don’t have to carry it alone - helping you make sense of what happened, reduce triggers over time, and begin to feel more settled in your body and life.

Depression

Depression can feel like heaviness, numbness, low motivation, or a sense that nothing will change - even when you’re doing your best.

Counselling can sit alongside you without judgement, helping you find words for what’s going on, reconnect with meaning, and take small, manageable steps back towards hope and energy.

Self-esteem & inner criticism

A harsh inner voice can wear you down, making you second-guess yourself and feel “not enough,” no matter what you do.

Counselling helps you understand where that voice came from, soften self-judgement, and build a kinder, steadier relationship with yourself - one that supports confidence and self-trust.

grief and loss.jpg

Grief & loss

Grief isn’t just sadness - it can be shock, anger, guilt, relief, numbness, or all of it at once, and it rarely moves in a straight line.

Counselling offers a compassionate place to honour what you’ve lost, express what’s hard to say elsewhere, and find ways to carry the loss with less weight over time.

Burnout & life transitions

Burnout and big life changes can leave you depleted, disconnected, and unsure who you are anymore — especially if you’ve been “coping” for a long time.

Counselling helps you pause, listen to what your mind and body are asking for, and rebuild balance with clearer boundaries, priorities, and self-care that actually fits your life.

Emotional regulation & resilience

If emotions feel too intense, unpredictable, or hard to manage, it can be exhausting and sometimes frightening.

Counselling helps you understand your emotional responses, develop grounding and regulation skills, and strengthen resilience - so that, over time, feelings become something you can work with, not something that overwhelms you.

Counselling can be life changing

Counselling can be genuinely life-changing because it gives you a safe, confidential space to make sense of what you’re carrying — with someone trained to help you untangle patterns, process emotions, and find steadier ways forward.

There’s also strong evidence behind it: the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) notes there’s a large body of research showing psychotherapy works, with benefits that can be enduring - and that outcomes are often strongly linked to the quality of the therapeutic relationship (feeling safe, heard, and not judged).

In simple terms: healing happens when you don’t have to hold it all alone, and you can explore what’s going on at a pace that feels right for you.

Accessible Counselling

Your counselling sessions will take place in a cosy, welcoming cottage in Wethersfield (near Braintree) with a calm, relaxing feel from the moment you arrive. Inside, you’ll find comfortable seating and a warm, private space where you can talk openly and feel at ease.

There’s also free private parking right outside, so getting here is simple and stress-free.

Simple FAQ's

What can you help with?

People come to counselling for many different reasons. Common areas include:

  • Anxiety & overwhelm

  • Trauma & healing

  • Depression / low mood

  • Self-esteem & inner criticism

  • Relationship challenges

  • Grief & loss

  • Burnout & life transitions

  • Emotional regulation & resilience

How much does counselling cost?

My standard fee is £75 per 60-minute session. I also offer an introductory price of £40 per session for your first 6 sessions.

Do you offer online counselling?

Yes. You can choose online counselling if that feels easier, more private, or fits better around work and family life. Online sessions are held in a confidential setting and work in a very similar way to in-person counselling.

How does counselling work?

Counselling gives you a calm, confidential space to talk things through with someone trained to help you make sense of what you’re feeling. We’ll explore what’s going on for you, gently notice patterns, and work towards changes that feel realistic and lasting.

Where are you based?

In-person sessions take place at my cozy, welcoming cottage in Wethersfield, Essex, with a calm, private environment. There is free parking outside, so arriving is simple and stress-free.

What if I’m not sure what to talk about?

That’s completely normal. You don’t need to have a clear “story” or the perfect words. We can start wherever you are, and I’ll help you slow things down and work out what feels most important to explore.

What happens in a free discovery call?

A discovery call is a free 10–15 minute chat to help you decide whether counselling with me feels like a good fit. You can ask questions, tell me a little about what you’re looking for, and we can discuss next steps—without any pressure.

Is what I share confidential?

Yes—sessions are confidential, and I’ll explain the boundaries of confidentiality clearly before we begin. The aim is to create a safe space where you can speak openly and feel supported.
